Caliente NV this is the race we look forward to all season. We preped the cars for weeks to run fast and finish first. We'll that's the best we did.

1102 Driven by JR and Co-Driver JP quickly got the lead in thier class and 30 miles in the 10 time Baja 1000 Champion passed them but they hung tough and even with a few missed steps they were on his heals after lap 1. On lap 2 they got hit by a 16 car and later that lap YE OLD BOLDER jumped up and took out the valve cover ending thier day.

1377 Driven by John Bohls and Co-driven by Sherrie Nichols (Car Owner) got a great start and had the 1974 PreRunner in 4th after the first lap but when they pulled into the pit they saw that both rear shock mounts had snapped. After welding them up they tried to do another lap but they broke again so on to the trailer they went.

The cars ran well but I guess we still have alot to learn! We will return to Caliente NV next year.

SIDE NOTE:

If you ever get to Caliente NV you will be very blessed. The town of 800 people is one of the best little towns in the west. Thank You Caliente and Thanks to SNORE for keeping it in the schedule.

Sorry Billy for killing the best Class 11 Motor ever. Man that car was FAST!!!!

The MINT 400 was great for Billy McCool and the 1625 car. Billy and Josh got the team a 6th place in the hardest automotive race in the US. Car 1102 driven by JR Nichols was in the lead until they had some mechanical issues. The real winners are the cars that finished this race.

Cold Forged is proud to support the USMC Pankration fight team. We recently hosted a event at Camp Pendleton that should be on TV soon.

It was a pleasure to help out and showcase a revived Olympic Sport that we hope is back as a medal sport in 2016.

The finals were between Camp Pendleton and Twenty Nine Palms. The winner was ***** you will have to wait for air dates.

The 2010 Season is on. We are running in 2 classes with 3 cars this season. Cory V. in a Stock Bug, JR with JP in a Stock Bug and Billy McCool in a 2 Seat 1600cc car. This will be the 3rd Season for Cold Forged Racing with SNORE and every year we place top 3 in our classes for the season. We are running for the top this year and we welcome the fans to come on out and watch.

WOW what a night at King of the Cage!

Tony "Kryptonite" Lopez (Light Heavyweight & Heavyweight Champion) won his match in 5 rounds by decision over a guy whose arm he broke in the ring 6 months earlier.

GREAT WORK TONY!

We started out the night watching Liron "THE ICON" Wilson dominate some over weight Heavyweight and then watched as he gut kicked him to the point the guy didn't want anymore. Liron finished it in the first round with a submission.

WELL DONE! Give him a shot at a real fighter KOTC.

Congratulations to William McCool (Age 12) who road with his dad Billy McCool to a first place win for team Cold Forged Racing. Beauhawk and John Bohls took the car out on the first lap and McCool and his crew chief Mike did the second and then William got in.

This past weekend #19 raced in the Indy 500 in front of 400K plus.

It was an exciting race and he finished 12th after only a week of practice and starting 26th on the grid.

If Saturday’s action here in Surprise, AZ for the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series presented by Geico Powersports set the benchmark for excitement, close racing, and on-track drama, Sunday’s action raised that bar all over again. Once again, a sellout crowd and enjoyable weather were on hand at the Speedworld Off Road Park for Round 4 of competition, and what transpired on the racetrack was nothing short of terrific.

Kyle took third on Saturday and Sean took 4th on Sunday both in McCool Motorsports Chassis. Congratulation boy's on getting it done in the 2nd stop this season.

Weekly flag ceremony honors service members

As taps played, 11 jacketed veterans lowered the U.S. flag in the Orange Plaza, inside the traffic circle.
The weekly Wednesday evening tradition takes place even during the rain. The veterans want to honor the service members fighting around the world.
For the motorcycle-riding veterans and the few who watch, the ceremony is also a way of remembering fallen service members and the freedom that the flag represents.
“It's just horrible to be forgotten,” said Marine Corps veteran and Orange resident Mark Wayland. “It's a fear that everyone has.”
Most of the veterans, including Wayland, belong to the Patriot Guard Riders, a national group that got its start escorting the families of dead service members at funerals.
The Wednesday event in Orange began as a response to the anti-war protesters who stand across from them.
“Negative ads like that don't help our troops. It never has,” said Wayland, whose son fought in Iraq several years ago.
So about a year ago, Wayland and a few others began holding a sign that read “Support our troops.”
The ceremony “is a type of a counterprotest, but it's very civil,” said Beckie Takashima, 22, a Chapman University student who plays taps for the Patriot Guard Riders each week.
Their counterprotest progressed when Wayland got city permission to lower the flag in military fashion. Before the organization came along, one man was doing a folding job that should take eight to 10 people, he said.
Wayland enlisted to fight in Vietnam in the late 1960s and raised the flag overseas whenever he had the chance.
When he sees a U.S. flag he thinks of the service members who raised the flag at Iwo Jima.
“I get a chill,” he said. “They were going to run that flag no matter what.”
Most of the anti-war protesters who stand at the opposite end of the Plaza feel the same way. A few are veterans or have family members serving in places such as Afghanistan.
Orange resident Ed Garza is one of those veterans. He and his comrades want the troops fighting in Iraq to come home now.
Despite differences in ideology, Garza and some of the others who stand with him will help fold the flag.
“It's about respect for the flag and our country,” Garza said.
The Patriot Guard Riders arrive at the Plaza at about 4 p.m. The crowd of onlookers is small in the winter and tends to grow in the summer.
Those interested in watching the ceremony should arrive by 5:30 p.m.
Wayland says the flag folders often recruit observers to help.
“We show everyone how it's done,” he said.
The ceremony may continue for as long as U.S. service members are fighting.
“It's not about us. We're not trying to call attention to ourselves,” Wayland said. “It's about respect for the flag and trying to show the public that there are still servicemen in harm's way.”

S.S. Racing/Danny Ebberts Racing Primm Valley Race Report

The team of S.S. Racing/Danny Ebberts Racing have been preparing and testing their new RPS/Danny Ebberts Racing built Unlimited 2 throughout the off-season. They have been preparing for the Lucas Oil Off-Road Series for the opening round at Primm, Nevada on April 4th and 5th 2009.

Thanks to some outside help the team was able to showcase two Unlimited 2 Trucks at the event. The team left Thursday morning, April 2nd to arrive with both vehicles ready for the weekend of racing. After both trucks went through technical inspection the team was able to set up the pit. Danny Ebberts and Scott Schovajsa walked the track and prepared for next mornings practice.

The first practice on Friday morning went well for both vehicles. Scott in the #19 truck was 6th fastest on the time charts and Danny in the #14 truck was 8th. The team made changes to both trucks and reviewed video that was taken of the morning practice session. Both of the trucks went out Friday afternoon for their second practice. Scott was 4th fastest and Danny was 7th fastest. The team again made changes to prepare for the upcoming qualifying session to be held later that day. However, qualifying was canceled due to severe winds. It was rescheduled for Saturday morning.

Scott in the #19 truck was in the first qualifying session and was disappointed with his 9th place qualifying position. Danny in the #14 was in the second session and qualified 3rd. With no invert Danny would start Saturdays race 3rd and Scott 9th. At the start of the race Danny completed the first lap in the 4th position and Scott in the 8th. At the start of the second lap a competitors truck made contact with Scott resulting in a flat tire. He completed an entire lap before realizing that the tire was flat. He went to the hot pit and the team changed the tire quickly, however, Scott ended up one lap down to the leaders. Midway through Danny was running 5th when a competitors truck made contact with him damaging the hood. The hood flew onto the windshield blocking all visibility. With help from his spotter he completed a full lap that way until the hood flew off. Unfortunately, he fell back to 7th and their was not enough time left in the race to make up any of the lost positions. Danny finished Saturdays race in 7th and Scott in 9th. Scott raced the unlimited 4 race and finished 2nd in class.

The team cleaned and prepared both trucks for Sunday morning qualifying. Danny and Scott would both be in the second group of qualifiers. Scott qualified 5th and Danny 7th. Due to the invert, Danny started 2nd and Scott 4th. Danny got the jump on the pole sitter and lead the first 3 laps. Scott made a mistake and spun in the second corner but quickly caught up to the leaders before the mandatory yellow. Danny restarted 4th and Scott 6th. Danny jumped to 2nd and Scott to 5th by the end of the first restart lap. Scott along with two other trucks were able to slip past Danny. Scott pulled ahead and finished the race in 2nd while Danny finished 5th.

After post race activities the team prepared Danny’s #14 truck to run in the Unlimited 4 division, which was the last race of the weekend. Danny started 8th and finish 4th overall and 3rd in class.

The team of S.S. Racing/Danny Ebberts Racing was very pleased with their results for the opening round of the Lucas Oil Off-Road Series. This marks the first race for Scott with his new RPS/Danny Ebberts Racing built truck and Danny‘s first time racing an Unlimited 2. The team had a total of 6 top 10’s, 4 top 5’s and 3 podiums for the weekend.

This past weekend the Nation went back to some down home BBQ with friends and neighbors. It was 75 and sunny, the burgers & dogs were hot, the beer cold and the laughs were loud. We can't wait for summer and checking out the pool.

P.S. I wish this was the BBQ. Hat's off to this guy!

The MINT claims another car!

Well we came we saw and the MINT got us! After Beau fixed the throttle the oil light came on a mile later. Sherrie called us and we got them a new drain plug that the MINT claimed. I have to say that I'm proud of the team. I really can't complain because after all I was able to fulfill a life long DREAM!

The first lap at the Mint

Started under the Red Bull arch. SNORE finally got a good start finish. In the first 3 miles there were over 30 cars stuck in a 3 mile silt bed. There was no wind and no visability for the first 9 miles and every time a car passed or we passed.

We took just under 4 hours on the first lap but the old 1974 car is still in it. Coming back to the pit we went side by side off and jump with a class 1 car.

Beauhawk & Sherrie just left and they are down at mile 3 fixing the throtle cable but they will be up soon.

NITRO CIRCUS BAM GET A WAKEUP CALL!

I was watching Nitro Circus the other day and for those of you that race there was an episode with BAM from Jackass that just killed me.

If you have seen BAM's show you know he's a city slicker with his hummer and lambo. In the show he gets to ride with Travis in a Trophy Truck on about a 2 mile stretch of mild rollers. Travis almost lost it once but when they returned BAM was shaking from the rush. I believe even though he's crazy as hell he has a new respect for the guys that race in the dirt. I welcome any celebrity to take that challenge.

Billy McCool did what very few will ever be able to do. He and his Team Members opened the 2008 Championship Off Road Racing season buy building a car in 31 days from nothing and racing in competition on the 32nd day. Cold Forged was proud to have helped out McCool in 2008 and we are looking forward to short course racing making a comeback.

For those that were there at last year's MINT 400 off-road race in Las Vegas NV, you missed one hell of a night.
